Festival of Lessons and Carols
The 53rd Annual Festival of Lessons and Carols took place on Sunday, December 2nd in All Saints’ Chapel.
This service is based on one that has been sung annually at King’s College Chapel in Cambridge, England, since 1918. It features the University Choir under the direction of University Organist and Choirmaster, Dr. Robert Delcamp, Professor of Music at the University and Dr. Jason Farris, Assistant University Organist. The choir sings carols for Advent and Christmas that alternate with scripture readings. Readers are drawn from the University community as well as from the Sewanee community. The carols and readings move us from Advent through Christmas and finally to the Incarnation of the Son of God.
Please check back in the fall of 2013 for information on the 2013 Festival of Lessons and Carols, and on the new seating policy.
