Create in me a new heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. -Psalm 51:11
Lent is a season of preparation - a time for inward reflection, prayer, and discernment. Lent is a time to give up those habits that separate us from God as well as a time to begin or rekindle those traditions that make us better Christians and help God heal this broken world. You are invited to pray, fast, rest, reflect, and prepare for the painful suffering and death of Jesus and then rejoice and celebrate His resurrection.
We hope this book of reflections allows you to hear the still small voice of God as you prepare for the Easter season.
- Catherine Outten, Lay Chaplain (C’09)
Almighty God, you know that we have no power in ourselves to help ourselves: Keep us both outwardly in our bodies and inwardly in our souls, that we may be defended from all adversities which may happen to the body, and from all evil thoughts which may assault and hurt the soul; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. - Collect for the Third Sunday in Lent
