Residence Halls and Other Campus Residences
The University of the South offers several types of student housing on campus. All rooms are furnished with a twin-sized bed, desk and chair, dresser, and closet space for each student.
Students may choose to live in one of the 19 residence halls on campus; there are 15 co-ed halls, two men’s halls, and two women’s halls. Amenities vary by hall, though all provide a laundry room and common rooms for studying purposes. For more information on amenities specific to each residence hall, including floor layouts and room dimensions, please visit the Residence Halls webpage.
Residential life offers an array of smaller theme houses for sophomore, junior, and senior students. These houses are intentionally focused living-learning spaces that bring students together for an enhanced residential experience. Occupancy in each house is limited, ranging from five to 12 students, and offers a more independent style of living with each house having its own full kitchen and living space.
While some houses are historical (meaning the theme of the house does not change year to year), many houses are open for application each year. Students may submit a proposal for a theme house during the spring semester for any of the houses that are not historical. Please visit the Theme Houses webpage for more information about theme houses, including floor layouts, room dimensions, and applications.
